Established in 1952, Buckhorn had a humble beginning with a small kitchen and a few modest buildings. Over the years, the campground expanded as the inherent spirit of community and hospitality attracted more guests.
The campground sits in a picturesque location in the San Jacinto Mountains and includes: rustic cabins, an outdoor chapel beneath a canopy of soaring pine trees, a large multipurpose gym and conference space called The Peace Center, and much more. Buckhorn is a meaningful and sacred space not only for its founding organization (Community of Christ), but also for other secular organizations and religious groups from around the world who have held retreats, workshops, camps, and events in our space. A virtue of hospitality is deeply instilled in the staff at Buckhorn, and we will make every effort to ensure our guests feel right at home.
We feel a sacred responsibility to be stewards of this beautiful space, and we hope you feel the same presence of peace that others have when you step onto the grounds for the first time.
All are welcome at Buckhorn, and we hope to meet you soon!
